Privacy policy
Pokerty
Effective October 19, 2026. Pokerty is a free, play-chip poker app operated by Kim Khoi Lam. Chips have no cash value. The app has no advertising, in-app purchases, deposits, withdrawals or real-money prizes.
Practice and your device
Your local profile, emoji, preferences, practice games and statistics are stored on your device. Practice opponents run on your device. Pokerty does not upload your practice history or local statistics to its multiplayer database.
Private multiplayer rooms
When you create or request to join a room, Pokerty sends your chosen display name, a randomly generated device credential, room identifiers and multiplayer actions to its Convex backend. You can use a nickname; no real name, email address or account registration is required to play. The server stores a hash of the device credential, room membership, settings and game state so it can reconnect your seat, enforce permissions, run computer opponents and synchronize play.
What other players see
Approved room members see display names, public actions, chip counts and legally revealed cards. A room code alone does not grant a seat: the host must approve a join request. Other players do not receive your device credential, hidden cards or undealt deck. The backend operator can access server-held data.
Retention and leaving
Rooms expire after two hours without member activity or 24 hours after creation, whichever comes first, and are removed by scheduled cleanup. A room is removed when its last human leaves. Pending join requests expire after five minutes. Bounded hashed-credential records also support rate limits and abuse prevention. Infrastructure logs and backups may have separate provider retention periods.
Player safety
Names are screened for offensive wording. Player reports contain the reported name, a fixed reason, room identifier, hashed device identities and timestamps. Only the app operator can access the report queue. Reports are removed after 30 days. Device block relationships and moderation restrictions are retained until unblocked or restored, or removed following a verified privacy request. These records protect players and may persist after a room expires. Blocking is tied to a device identity, not a verified person. Contact support from the affected device for deletion assistance; never send a private device credential.
Service providers
Convex processes multiplayer data and network requests. Vercel hosts the public web app and these information pages. Network providers may process technical request metadata such as IP addresses and operational logs. Apple processes App Store and TestFlight distribution and any diagnostics you choose to share under its own policies.
No tracking or data sales
Pokerty does not use advertising identifiers, advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking, and does not sell personal information. Multiplayer data is used to provide and protect the app, rather than for advertising.
Your choices
Leave a room from Room & friends to relinquish your seat. Local preferences, saved games and statistics can be removed by clearing the app’s storage; on the web, clear this site’s data. A native seat credential is held in secure device storage, which may persist after reinstalling on some devices; room expiry still applies. Contact support for privacy requests, without sending your private seat credential or hidden cards.
Age suitability
Pokerty contains simulated gambling and is intended for adults. It does not offer real-money gambling or prizes, and success in play-chip poker does not imply success in real-money gambling.
